Anthony lives in Senoia, Georgia, and is a part of our House. His life has been full of struggles, trials, and tribulations. He was a severe addict for 15 years and was an active gang member. Over the many years of living this life, he spent a lot of time in jails and multiple prisons in two states.

But God. While Anthony was incarcerated, he found Jesus! This was no small thing for him — because leaving the gang he was in could result in his death. But Anthony had encountered the Lord and knew he was called to leave behind his old way of life and follow Him.

After getting out of jail, Anthony took steps to recover and heal. He entered ‘A Better Way Ministries’, a partner of our house, and began his year-and-a-half program to recovery. It was through the A Better Way program he began attending Passion City Church at Trilith.

Now, he has graduated from the program, and not only living in sobriety but living obedient and surrendered to Jesus in all he does. He is now a full-time intern at A Better Way Ministries and helps lead their jail ministry, sharing his testimony and connecting with guys in jail. He is passionate about helping others find freedom in Christ that only He can offer.

On June 11, on top of celebrating three baptisms, we celebrated God’s faithfulness in Anthony’s story. We heard Anthony couldn’t get to the jails he was ministering and had challenges engaging with his family because he did not have a vehicle. Many Door Holders rallied together, and our church was able to gift him a vehicle.

We are so grateful to be a small part of Anthony’s Above +Beyond story, to have local partners like A Better Way, and to have a front-row seat to what God doing in and through people at Passion City Church @ Trilith.
