bloom dedications at Passion City Church
We are excited that you are interested in dedicating your child to the Lord! The purpose of bloom dedications is for parents to partner with the Church to present their child before God, committing to seek after His grace and wisdom in leading their child towards a life that exhibits the Glory of God, Radical Grace, and Extravagant Worship.
We believe that you, as parents, play a pivotal role in your child’s spiritual journey. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” We as a House commit to coming alongside your family in this journey towards faith in Jesus and a growing relationship with Him. As you dedicate your child to the Lord, it’s also a time for you, as parents, to commit to being an example of what someone who glorifies Jesus looks like, exhibiting the characteristics of Jesus for your children.
Child Dedication Frequently Asked Questions
01
Is there an age limit?
Any family who would like to dedicate their child should do so before their second birthday.
02
Do I need to call Passion City Church home to participate in Child Dedications?
Yes! In dedicating your child to God, you state that you are willing to partner with God and the Church to raise your child to pursue the Glory of God. As a House, we are here to partner with you as the body of Christ and support you as a family unit. Calling Passion City Church home means you are an active Door Holder or giver, your child has attended bloom for at least 6 weeks, or you are involved in a circle. If you have any questions in this regard, please reach out.
03
Can a single parent participate in a child dedication service?
Yes! Child Dedications illustrate your commitment as a parent to live a life in community and in partnership with the Church that supports your child’s spiritual development and growth towards faith in Jesus. We as a House are committed to partnering with you and your spiritual investment in your child.
04
Is Dedication the same as Baptism?
Dedications are not the same as Baptisms. Baptism is for an individual who has made a personal decision to put their faith in Jesus. Dedications are parents committing to live a life in a community that illustrates, for their children, what someone who seeks after the grace and wisdom of Jesus and leads their child towards a life that exhibits the Glory of God, Radical Grace, and Extravagant Worship.
We believe that Salvation comes exclusively through faith in Jesus by our recognition that we have all sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, but through His radical grace and the work of Jesus on the cross, have been forgiven and receive eternal life. Baptisms are an outward expression of this belief.
