19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:19-25
If all that we’ve looked at throughout this reading plan is true, if Jesus rose from the dead, and we too have gone from death to life spiritually, then the idea that we would keep all of this life-altering good news to ourselves is ludicrous.
We love to talk about what we love. In fact, we do it nearly every day! We advertise our love for our favorite shows, teams, food, fashion, and whatever else we love. Why is it, then, that Jesus is often our best-kept secret? If we’ve been raised to new life in Jesus, we should have no problem letting people know about it! The life Jesus has to offer is too good to keep quiet about.
That’s why, when we’ve experienced the rising for ourselves, we’ve got to share it with others. You are God’s Plan A for the people in your circle of influence coming to faith. In the best way, you should feel the weight of that. As your friends, co-workers, neighbors, family members see the change in you, and you share the story of what took place on that first rising, the Great Commission, which Paul reiterates in one of his letters to the Corinthians, can be fulfilled.
So who do you know that needs to know about Jesus? No one is too far gone. No one is beyond saving. Everybody is worth telling. Jesus is alive, and so are we. This good news is too good to keep to ourselves!
Who are some people in your circle of influence you want to share your faith with? What’s holding you back from doing it?
