Agape House

In 2020, through the generosity of our House, Passion City Church was able to give a van to one of our local partners, Agape Recovery Center. This van is utilized to serve individuals who are working to gain genuine, long-term freedom from their substance abuse and addictive thinking. Many Sundays since then, that van headed to Cumberland filled with men & women working towards freedom and excited to worship with us at Passion City Church.

In 2022, we told the story of Brittney, who was stuck in a life of addiction but boarded the van given through Above + Beyond and stepped into Passion City Church for the first time. She encountered the grace and forgiveness of Jesus and put her faith in him. In March of that year, Brittney was baptized, declaring that she had been made new in Jesus and freed from the chains that once bound her.

The story doesn’t end here, and we continue to see God’s faithfulness through your generosity.

In September 2023, Tammy hit rock bottom and entered Agape Recovery Center after spiraling into an eight-year addiction to alcohol after losing her husband to a short and painful battle with cancer. For years, her daughter Tina prayed and contended that her mom would truly find her own faith and belief in Jesus and be freed from the addiction that had wrecked her and their family’s lives. One Sunday, while in the program at Agape, she rode in the same van our House gifted the ministry to our Cumberland location. During the 11:45 gathering that day, seven people put their faith in Jesus…including Tammy! She put her lightbulb in the Jesus is Life wall, and today, she’s eight months sober, working, and seeing other women who are walking through the program at Agape come to church in that same van that changed her life.

It’s beautiful to see that in the economy of God, He can take what seems like a small act of generosity and transform dozens of lives for years to come. If you gave in 2020, thank you.
