Gospel Music tells the story of people desperate for the glory and renown of Jesus and is a guiding voice in the beauty of worship to the name above all names. “When I consider the celebration of Black History Month, I can’t help but acknowledge the rich history that is found in gospel music. Its foundation is built upon a sound that comes out of perseverance and unwavering faith. A faith that says, Lift Every Voice And Sing. A faith that declares What A Friend We Have In Jesus, and a desperation that cries out I Need Thee, Walk With Me Lord. As we celebrate the sound of Black History, songs like these, as well as many others, were the ones we’d sing in faith to the Name that matters most.” - Kenny J. West
