Our partner, Bread for the City, is committed to reducing the burden of poverty in DC by providing food, clothing, and medical care to lower-income areas. Join us as we team up with this organization to pack food, distribute toiletries, and extend love and care to families and residents that are struggling during this time. Volunteers can serve at both the NW Center and SE Center.

Volunteers that are interested in serving at the NW Center (1525 7th Street NW) can sign up for morning and afternoon shifts in food, clothing, toiletry distribution, and administrative support. We are looking for two individual volunteers per activity.
SE CENTER: Morning shifts // 9am-12pm
Afternoon shifts // 1pm-4:30pm
Volunteers that would like to serve at the SE Center (1640 Good Hope Road SE) can sign up for morning and afternoon shifts in food, clothing, or baby boutique! Our House wants to ensure those on the frontlines in our city feel seen, loved, valued and cared for during this unique and stressful time. We are linking arms with local restaurants and organizations across Metro Atlanta [DC] to serve those on the frontlines of COVID-19 — our healthcare workers, first responders, and essential workers.
Through our strategic partnerships we are serving meals for a little as $8 a meal and bringing treat baskets for a full hospital unit for a little as $60!
Our partner, Food for All DC, is a non-profit organization that strives to provide emergency food for those who are in temporary situations of need. In this time, they are meeting the needs of the eldery, handicapped, and single mothers with young children, as well as those with pre-existing conditions. Join us as we help Food for All DC combat food insecurity in our city!

ON-CALL DELIVERY: Every day
We need volunteers who are able to deliver emergency food as urgent needs arise throughout the week. Drivers will be responsible for picking up food, contacting the client, and arranging a delivery time and pickup method. If you are available through the week and want to sign up for on-call delivery, you will receive contact information in your confirmation email.
FOOD BAG PACKING: Thursdays from 8am-12pm
The Food for All DC team packs bags of food to deliver to clients on Thursday mornings. Up to 4 volunteers can join. Masks and gloves can be provided, and social distancing is enforced! You will receive a link to sign up for this in your confirmation email.
Supply DC is a donation campaign dedicated to providing families in the city with daily essentials and supplies that have been largely overlooked in the COVID-19 crisis. Through your donations we are able to provide non-perishable goods, as well as distribute bags of fresh produce to the Shaw community!
Our partner, Food & Friends, is committed to delivering nutritious meals to residents of DC that are battling serious illnesses. They provide individual nutrition counseling and wellness workshops, healthy home-delivered meals, and groceries-to-go for at-risk residents, many of whom are over the age of 50 and were homebound before COVID-19 hit. Join us in bringing health and hope to those in need!

Meal Delivery: Food & Friends is actively looking for volunteers willing to make no-contact deliveries to residents throughout the DC area. Car is needed. Groups of up to 4 are able to volunteer every day in morning and afternoon shifts, 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4pm.
Kitchen: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm.
Our partner, Capital Area Food Bank, works year round to provide good, healthy food to people facing food insecurity through after school meals, senior programs, and pop up pantries. Join us as we help to equip our neighbors with resources and work together in the fight against hunger.

Volunteers are needed to help build boxes of non-perishable food items and cold to-go meals to provide our partners delivering to families and individuals in need. Shift times vary throughout the day, Monday through Friday.
Our partner, Martha’s Table, is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the D.C. community. Join us as Martha’s Table doubles down on the mission to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities to provide nutrient-rich foods and shelf-stable bagged meals to battle food insecurity.
Biggest Need(s): Grocery Bagging, Food Preparation
Joyful Grocery Bagging: Monday-Friday from 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
Volunteers are needed to help build bags full of healthy groceries for children and families affected by school closures and job loss. Food will be pre-packaged, and volunteers will also be asked to help sanitize and clean the space.
Martha’s Table Market: Monday-Friday in AM and PM shifts
Market volunteers are able to assist clients as they shop for their groceries, and close up the market at the end of the day, while providing valuable interaction with clients.
Jubilee Jobs helps to connect employers in DC with qualified, well-prepared job candidates. Their mission is to provide clients with skilled, compassionate job preparation, placement, and retention services. Passion City Church is teaming up with Jubilee Jobs to help job-seekers create professional resumes and fill out online applications.
