Bread for the City is committed to reducing the burden of poverty in DC by providing food, clothing, and medical care to lower-income areas. Join us as we team up with this organization to pack food, distribute toiletries, and extend love and care to families and residents that are struggling during this time. Volunteers can serve at both the NW Center and SE Center.
-Food Pantry: Volunteers are needed to help package and distribute groceries
-Covid-19 Testing: Volunteers are needed to help assist w/ COVID testing, data entry, and/or conduct call backs
– Holiday Supports (remotely): Volunteers are needed to help make phone calls to clients
Food for All DC is a non-profit organization that strives to provide emergency food for those who are in temporary situations of need. In this time, they are meeting the needs of the elderly, handicapped, and single mothers with young children, as well as those with pre-existing conditions. Join us as we help Food for All DC combat food insecurity in our city.
*Meal Delivery: Volunteers are needed to pick up and deliver emergency food, primarily (Thursday- Saturday)
*Organize Groceries: Volunteers are needed to organize and bag food (Thursdays/Friday) 9-11am
Supply DC is a donation campaign dedicated to providing families in the city with daily essentials and supplies that have been largely overlooked in the COVID-19 crisis. Through your donations, we have been able to distribute bags of fresh produce to the Shaw community, collect thanksgiving food, and distribute winter outerwear and cleaning supplies. Please be on the lookout for the next Supply DC Drive.
Food & Friends is committed to delivering nutritious meals to residents of DC that are battling serious illnesses. They provide individual nutrition counseling and wellness workshops, healthy home-delivered meals, and groceries-to-go for at-risk residents, many of whom are over the age of 50 and were homebound before COVID-19 hit. Join us in bringing health and hope to those in need!

Martha’s Table is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the D.C. community. We are partnering with Martha’s Table to double down on the mission to provide nutrient-rich foods and shelf-stable bagged meals to battle food insecurity. Join us as we link arms with Martha’s Table to support strong children, strong families, and strong communities!
*Joyful Grocery Bagging: Volunteers are needed to help build bags of groceries and pre-packaged meals for children and families
*Martha’s Table Market: Volunteers assist clients as they shop for their groceries.
The DC Volunteer Snow Program, initiated by Mayor Bowser and Serve DC, matches volunteers with senior residents and those with access and functional needs for snow removal services in the aftermath of a winter event.
*Volunteers are needed to help clear pathways for senior residents and residents with access/functional needs when there is 4 or more inches of snow impacting the District of Columbia.
Central Union Mission is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the oldest private social service agency in Washington, DC. In addition to its emergency shelter, which provides over 62,000 bed-nights each year, the Mission operates a holistic, Christ-centered transformation and workforce development program for men, provides benefits for veterans, helps people overcome addictions, and operates a food and clothing distribution center, which provides food for over 5,750 people each month. The Mission also runs a camp for underprivileged children, and offers a ministry to families and senior citizens.
