1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Psalm 1
1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.
Psalm 119:1-8
What a privilege to daily dive into the Word of God. Scripture is God breathed, profitable for instruction, for conviction, for correction, for training in righteousness [2 Tim 3:16]. It takes great humility both to receive and act upon all that the Holy Spirit reveals to us in the pages of Scripture. How amazing that the Father loves us so much that He wants us to rise up to our fullest potential and the most radiant representation of His nature!
Our time in the Word will change us. When we willingly come with hands open in surrender, hearts open to receive, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal truth and to change our hearts, He will! When we give Him full access to every ounce of who we are, He then equips us as His children to be prepared for the tasks He has for us.
Nothing is hidden from His sight. It’s comforting to know that we have a good and faithful God who will lovingly lead us to more of Him, making us more like Him in the process.
Over the duration of this reading plan, we will journey through a few of the key ways the Word of God impacts and changes us from the inside out. The value of choosing to allow the Word of God to have full sway in our lives is immeasurable. Nothing else compares to the riches that await us in the pages of Scripture!
